| | | REFLECTIONS07 - September 28 - 30, 2007 at Ashawagh Hall, East Hampton, NYTWO ARTISTS SHARE THEME IN "REFLECTIONS 07" SHOW AT ASHAWAGH HALL East End artists Gabriele T. Raacke and Gordon Gagliano will once again exhibit their work in their fourth annual REFLECTIONS 07 show at Ashawagh Hall in Springs, East Hampton. The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday, September 28, 2007 from 5-8 pm. The gallery is also open on Saturday, September 29 from 1 – 6 pm and on Sunday, September 30 from 1 – 6 pm. ________________________________________ Gabriele T. Raacke is known for her innovative use of reverse-painting-on-glass. The upcoming exhibit features new work of curious reflections of reality, influenced by her childhood memories of Grimm’s fairy tales. A bear and a ballerina dancing on a country road. A woman riding a giant rooster in the kitchen. Three generations of performers juggling eggs in a meadow. The shiny glass pieces that serve as her canvas produce a delicious luminance that stems from light reflected between the layers of paint and the two glass surfaces. This year, she takes the concept a step further by depicting characters reflecting upon themselves, and, in one piece, reflecting the viewer with a mirror behind a portion of the painting. Ms. Raacke has shown on the East End at Arlene Bujese, Renee Fotouhi, Gayle Willson, and Pamela Williams galleries, and in Manhattan at the Work Gallery, Archetype Gallery and at Bergdorf Goodman. Her work is also currently on display at the Hilla von Rebay Museum in Germany.
